Step into Beautyland with Izabela!

Hailing from a small town in Poland, Izabela and her husband made the exciting move to London, seeking further opportunities for both of their careers. With a background in the medical sector and experience working in a local hospital Izabela realised that this wasn’t the career she wanted to pursue.
Izabela discovered on the other hand her true calling: a career in the beauty therapist industry. Inspired by her fondness for beauty and wellness, Izabela took the courageous step to change her career path, allowing her to follow her dreams and make a positive impact in the lives of others.
"With unwavering support from my husband, I pursued a two-year course in cosmetology—a field I had always loved. "
In the beginning of any significant change, having support can make the difference between success and failure. That is not to say the move came without its challenges.
A significant challenge was the language barrier that many people don’t have to consider when starting out.
"This period tested both my personal resilience and business acumen due to the language barrier and high living costs. However, I remained positive and determined to succeed."
It's inspiring to see how she overcame the language barrier. I firmly believe that when you need to, you will find a way.
How did you manage the initial startup costs along with the living expenses?
"I started my own business in 2014 in London as a mobile Beauty Therapist, then I opened a small home-based salon in the West Midlands in 2016, where the cost of living was more manageable. In 2018 we bought our house where I was able to separate my business from my private life without losing the bespoke personalized touch. "
This different approach to starting up as a mobile therapist meant that she had access to a wider area for treatments and more potential clients, as well as lower startup costs, since rent can be very high in London.
How did you choose to set up in the UK after being in Poland?
"London, being such a huge city, offers me far more opportunities to learn and achieve success than the small town where we lived. The vibrant and diverse environment of London has provided me with access to a wealth of resources, networks, world-class training courses, and experiences that I believe are essential for personal and professional growth."
Training has been imperative to Izabela growth.
"I have made it a point to constantly stay up to date with industry trends.
To ensure I stayed at the forefront of the beauty industry, I frequently travelled back to London and other countries to learn new skills and attend various courses and training sessions. These opportunities allowed me to enhance my expertise and offer the latest treatments to my clients."
This dedication also led to seeking more training opportunities overseas. "I also attended specialized waxing courses in Spain and Italy, where I was exposed to innovative wax techniques and products that further enriched my services. These experiences not only broadened my skill set but also gave me a deeper understanding of international beauty trends and the latest waxing techniques."
Training is often something people overlook, but it is a great method for keeping up to date with trends, assessing how you compare to others in the industry, and ensuring you are always growing by checking yourself along the way.
This December marks a huge milestone for Beautyland.

10 Years!
As well as the first Christmas with her little girl, and Izabela has gone all out preparing her salon for the holiday season.
"At Beautyland, the holiday season is one of the busiest times of the year, and I begin preparations in November to ensure everything runs smoothly."
Izabela's new family responsibilities have motivated her to take some more space over the holidays “This year, I plan to balance my professional commitments with spending quality time with my family."
One of her goals is to get this balance and blend of family time and work time more in line over the years.
Recognizing that rest is essential to return to her clients with the most energy, instead risking burnout.

Beautyland offers key treatments that that change with the season to keep it fresh for their clients:
"Waxing remains a staple and popular treatment, and I love to introduce waxes that are specific to the season.
Chocolate Wax for Autumn, with its rich, indulgent scent of hazelnut and hot chocolate.
Active Gold and So Berry Wax for Valentine's Day—my luxurious gold wax and sweet strawberry wax are my go-to options during the love season.
Vanilla Wax: Christmas wouldn't be complete without the delightful custard-like vanilla wax that fills my pot with a comforting, festive aroma.
To enhance the holiday experience, I always decorate the salon in a way that reflects the warmth and joy of the season."
Beautyland is excited to introduce special gift packages as part of our Christmas offers.
